When O’Sullivans Concept Salon invited me in for a gel manicure of course I said yes. I love being pampered and having my nails done is a monthly treat I really look forward to.

Considering I walk through London Bridge station daily, I have never been to the Shard Arcade so I was even more excited for my appointment.

I arrived 15 minutes early on a wet Friday afternoon and I was greeted with a smile, this is so important when trying somewhere new. Within 2 minutes of stepping inside O’Sullivans, my wet jacket, umbrella and duffle bag were put in the cloakroom and I was sitting at the nail station with a cup of tea trying to decide on my Essie nail colour.

The salon was fairly busy with customers having various treatments from blow-dries to pedicures and waxing. Clearly I am the only person who didn’t know about this hidden treasure.

A lovely young lady called Egzona was my nail technician and I know it sounds so basic but it was lovely having a chat with the person pampering me. I usually have my nails done locally out of convenience and conversation is minimal. Egonza and I spoke about holidays, music, blogging, living in London and how much she enjoyed working for O’Sullivans as she used to work in the Bankside salon. She was very knowledgeable about the products and the Essie brand as she talked me through each process and told me the benefits of having a good manicure before applying the gel polish.

As it’s Spring (or so they say) I decided to ditch the dark colours and go for a pretty pastel green colour. This minty green is one of my favourite colours for this time of year because it’s not too bright and I think it looks great against my skin tone. The only thing is, lighter coloured nails get dirty and fade a lot quicker than darker shades. Looking down at my nails now, I remember why I started avoiding lighter options. My nails have taken a serious bashing this week, they need a little TLC again.

I would recommend  O’Sullivans if you use London bridge station on your daily commute because it’s a nice treat on your way home or first thing in the morning on your way into the city. Or if you fancy a blow dry and mani in the same place, this is the perfect one-stop shop.

The team were friendly and welcoming and the salon is very clean, bright and a nice place to be. I had a really nice experience and my nails were done well. Big thanks to O’Sullivans for inviting me in and taking the best care of me.

Let me know what you think
