When- Saturday 13th June
Where- A Marquee in Chiswell Street EC1
I normally spend my Saturdays doing boring errands and things around the house, so as I was lucky enough to get a pair of tickets for the first Cosmopolitan Summer Party, I thought why not? Fashion and food, I’m involved!
Cosmopolitan magazine are one of the few publications doing reader events so I was keen to go along and see what they had planned. There was a short queue when I arrived but luckily it moved so quickly. After being checked off I was handed an envelope with vouchers for lunch, Prosecco (my fave) and cocktails, my kind of treats.
First up was a massive queue at Freya to have a look at their new swim collection, it is amazing and I got a cool goodie bag with a beach cover up, look book and shades, bonus. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many exciting bikinis for bigger boobs, the prints, the colours and they have so much neon! I already have the bondi bikini so all I need to do now is tone everything up nice and tight so I’m ready for the beach.
After grabbing a glass of Prosecco I followed the smell of the BBQ outside to Hot Box. I had the vegetarian option, a mushroom, halloumi and salad burger, perfection. Seriously there was so much food, I had candy floss, ice cream, Popchips and cupcakes and I didn’t even feel bad afterwards.
As well as eating obviously there were a few fashion clearly my favourite part, talks on healthy eating, nail treatments, eye brow threading, a blow dry bar and a temporary tattoo bar. I like a challenge so I got involved in the Soft and Gentle quick response activity where you had to hit the lights in the quickest time to make it onto the leader board. I didn’t make it on to the leader board and I don’t know where the people who got a higher score than me came from, I mean someone hit about 45 lights, how??
Overall it was a lovely afternoon with Dj Neev on the decks, drinks flowing, sweet treats and a fabulous fashion show. Well done Cosmopolitan and thanks for having me, I had a great afternoon and I look forward to the next event.
